Casino bonus burn meter

Work out the real rand cost behind a welcome bonus before you deposit. Enter the match, wagering multiplier, game contribution, RTP and max bet to see the turnover pressure in one screen.

18+ only. This calculator is an estimate, not a prediction. It does not tell you whether to deposit, and it does not improve casino odds. Use the values from the operator terms before claiming any bonus.

Before claiming

Six terms that change the result

Term Why it matters
Wagering basis Bonus-only wagering is usually lighter than deposit-plus-bonus wagering.
Game contribution A 20 percent contribution means R100 staked only clears R20 of wagering.
Maximum bet One stake above the max-bet rule can void bonus winnings.
Expiry window Short expiry forces more turnover per day and raises session risk.
Cash-out cap A cap can remove the upside even when the headline bonus looks large.
FICA status Withdrawals require identity checks. Complete them before chasing a bonus.

Method used by the calculator

Bonus amount equals the smaller of the matched deposit and the bonus cap. Turnover starts from the wagering basis, then adjusts for game contribution. Expected house-edge cost equals turnover multiplied by one minus the RTP.

Example: R3,000 bonus, 35x bonus-only wagering, 100 percent game contribution and 96 percent RTP creates R105,000 turnover. The long-run house-edge estimate is R4,200 because 4 percent of R105,000 is R4,200.

This is long-run math, not a forecast for one session. A short session can finish far above or below the estimate. The calculator also does not include maximum cash-out caps, bonus expiry, document review delays, game exclusions, bet-size breaches, or operator-specific rules.

What to do with the result

  1. If the burn meter is green, still read the terms and set a hard session limit.
  2. If the burn meter is yellow, reduce the deposit or avoid low-contribution games.
  3. If the burn meter is red, treat the offer as expensive entertainment rather than value.
  4. If the operator terms are unclear, do not deposit until support confirms them in writing.

Quick answers

What does the bonus wagering calculator show?

It estimates turnover required, spins at the max bet, expected house-edge cost, and the pressure created by wagering, RTP, game contribution, and max-bet rules.

Does the calculator predict whether I will win?

No. It uses simple long-run expected-value math. Individual casino results can be much higher or lower than the estimate.

Which values should I enter?

Use the exact deposit amount, bonus match, cap, wagering multiplier, game contribution rate, RTP, and maximum bet from the operator terms on the day you deposit.

Why does game contribution matter?

If a game contributes 20 percent to wagering, every R100 staked only counts as R20 toward the requirement. That can make the real turnover five times larger.

Should I claim a bonus if the burn meter is high?

Treat a high burn meter as a warning to read the terms again. Check max-bet rules, expiry, FICA status, cash-out caps, and whether your preferred games contribute enough.
